I often think about the diversity of this magnificent world. What a playground for our souls to experience all things of a physical nature. I also often think how hatred and bitterness manages to manifest in the world. I think how can a man judge another for the colour of his skin, how can a lady hate another for the tongue in which they speak. Now my answers won't be the same as yours but this is how I see it.
If we all were named Michael and wore reebok trainers and blue jeans and white tee shirts or if we were all called Mohammed and wore traditional islamic dress and believed soley in the Koran. Would it not be a very boring existence, yes we would have the beauty of the world to fill our days, but the Great Spirit wanted us to go further to push ourselves and learn all that we can within our lifetimes.
You see it is through the diversity of the world that we learn some of our greatest lessons, we must learn tolerance and forgiveness, we must learn compassion and respect and it is out of this respect that we can fully appreciate that everyone has the right to be who they want to be. The gay man may be ridiculed and the leper cast out, but know that if those who are different to yourself make you feel uncomfortable that the problem lies with you, not with them.
So please always remember that the Great Spirit has created us all regardless of religious practice, skin colour, sexual preference, language, nationallity and tradition. Life contains so many wonderful opportunities for growth and learning and progression of the soul. In my eyes one of the most beautiful realisations that a soul can have is to understand and have tolerance for their fellow man. At the core we are all the same, eternal light of the Great Spirit.
Look out the window, what do you see?
I see the tree standing in all its majesty, deeply rooted to its nuturing mother. I see the clouds forming and passing in the sky, I see the sunlight breaking through and the birds floating upon the breeze. I see the lush green grass and miles of hedgerow. On the brow of the hill I see the farmer tending to his cattle, I think for a moment. These thoughts lead me to the conclusion, that we do not realise how lucky we are.
It is so easy to become unappreciative of the many millions of gifts that have been bestowed upon us. From the window I can see clearly that heaven does exist, it exists eveytime we open our eyes, it exists in the colour and beauty of our divine Earth Mother. Mother Earth provides for our every need, she provides shelter, food and fulfillment, she also provides many many inspirations through her beautiful scenery and weather patterns.
To feel the rain or even the sunshine is a blessing. To see the sky so blue or the mountains so high is a blessing. So the next time things are getting on top of you, have a good look around and you will soon notice that our Earthly host is full of inspiration and enlightenment. Our Mother/Father God has provided for us in everyway, not only are given a chance to have a life, we are also given the chance to have a life on a planet that is so beautiful and nuturing. Things are never as bad as they seem. Heaven exists out of the window.
When was the last time you had five minutes to yourself? Without delay take yourself off and give yourself a wee bit of nuturing. Let your body and your mind relax, stop worrying, because it won't change anything. It is so important to make time for yourself, I know in this day and age, everything is done in a hurry. We seldom stop to think about our own needs, not just the needs of our body, but the needs of our souls. Often when we have much needed time out we open ourselves up to higher inspiration and understanding.
So that thing that is on your mind, that you feel won't wait until tomorrow, will indeed wait and if you can give yourself a break before tomorrow comes, you might just be able to do things differently or in a more profound way that will benefit others and yourself. You see if you look at our physical vessel, you'll undertsand in basic terms that it operates a bit like a car, in order to get the best out of the car you must nuture it, by using the correct fuels and taking it to the garage when it needs repair.
The same can be said for us, when we have been running around taking care of everyone else and giving time and again, our energy becomes depleted, and when our energy is depleted it is more difficult to build it up again, so if you don't take your car to the garage when it is not going right, it's eventually going to knack up on you. That is why it is so important to look after your own energy in the same way, by giving yourself five minutes away from your life and all its happenings, you are indeed nuturing your own soul and body and allowing higher energies to return. Thus giving you everything you need to cope with life and all its going ons.
Give yourself a break.......
Mr Brightside was a lovely old man, he was always happy and smiling. One day after seeing him in the street, I approached him and we began chatting. I told him of my woes and all the stuff that was going on in my life. He listened intently and offered wisdom filled words and inspiration where ever he could get a word in. I thought to myself what a lovely character, offering me help and advice.
During our conversation we spoke about the world and the problems that now face society. The whole time he was inspirational and he pointed out many times that this world is perfect it's just the people that lose their way, not the planet. I thought a bit and agreed, he said son, if you do not embrace your life and all within it, you'll get to a ripe old age and wonder what if. I said what do you mean, he said, I understand that things are not great for you at the moment and you are learning lifes lessons in a multitude of ways.
He continued, it is your life and if something is not right with it, you need to change it, no point thinking that you've got it hard compared to others, fact is, we all have our ups and downs, sometimes we become so consumed by our situations that we forget to live. I thought, he has a point here. I then began to ask him how he ws doing, he told me that earlier in the morning he had been told that he only had weeks to live, I didn't know what to say, He said, it's ok son, I have lived and I have enjoyed.
I continued, by saying that I was gutted for him and again offered help in anyway I could, he turned me down and wished me well. I thanked him and told him that he was an inspiring gentleman that I'll never forget. He turned and thanked me and said, actually son, you can do something for me, I said, surely no problem, what is it, he smiled and said, always remember to live. That was the last time I ever saw him, but because of him, I always remember to live.
